Current projects:
- Aquifer Protection - Protecting our region's drinking water by monitoring activities above the aquifer and participating in the bi-state aquifer study.
- Restoration Efforts - Along with protection of water resources in our reagion, The Lands Council is also working to restore river and stream banks that have been damaged through historical land uses. Keep checking this topic for opportunities to help out.

Accomplishments:
- Get the Lead Out! - Our campaign in the late 1990s successfully built public support to establish an EPA Superfund site to clean up mining waste in the Coeur d'Alene/Spokane watershed.
- In 2002, we helped secure funding for a bi-state study of the Rathdrum Prairie/Spokane Valley Aquifer: the sole source of our drinking water.
- Last year, we collaborated with local municipalities, business, and the Washington State Dept. of Ecology to reach an agreement to clean up phosphorus in the Spokane River.
